The preventive maintenance tasks include:
•• Updating the system to the latest firmware (software).
• Creating a backup of the programming (software).
• Inspecting and testing the (emergency) power supply and batteries.
• Testing detection equipment for functionality and range, and adjusting if necessary.
• Testing magnetic contacts and checking their mechanical mounting.
• Testing smoke/heat detectors for proper operation.
• Testing the operation of the (code) control panel and display functionality.
• Testing alarm devices such as sirens and strobe lights.
• Checking the online connection to the optional monitoring center and remote accessibility.
• Identifying and reporting changes in the building structure and/or layout that may negatively affect the intrusion detection system or reduce the security level.
• Verifying that the intrusion detection system complies with current regulations.
• Testing app functionality and updating if necessary.
• Completing the logbook and delivering the system fully operational to the user.
